It's important for you to know who we are. We're not just Re/Max Realtors in Iowa City! We are the parents of 3 children: Matt, age 31 married to Cybil, co-owner of Bliss For the Baby, father of Oliver, born June 13, 2007 and another on the way. March 28 we will know if we will have another grandson or our first granddaughter;  Jennifer, age 27, single, working at K-Mart, also a stained glass artist, living at home with us!; and Michelle, age 27, mother of Anthony and Isaiah, 11 and Jaxon, 3.  We are so lucky that they all live in this area!  We get to see our grandsons at least twice a week.

We have lived in Iowa City our entire married life! Tom is from Iowa City and graduated from West High and I grew up on a farm by Morse, Iowa, and graduated from Solon High School. We have always been East Iowa City people. Our children all 3 attended Wood Elementary School, Southeast Jr. High and City High.  Matt and Michelle chose to graduate from Kirkwood.

I got my Real Estate license in 1994. Tom joined me in 2000. We have met many wonderful people and helped people with all sorts of Real Estate needs.

Real Estate is always changing.  That is one of the reasons, I have chosen to invest in continuing my education and keeping up to date with technology.  I am proud of the fact that by doing this, I am a better Realtor and able to give better customer service! I have earned several designations: CRS(Certified Residential Specialist),the highest designation awarded to Real Estate sales associates in the residential sales field; ABR(Accredited Buyer Representative),the benchmark of excellence in buyer representation; ASR(Accredited Seller Representative),focuses on listings and seller representation; e-Pro,a national training program to certify Realtors as internet professionals. Tom is also an ABR.

We believe in giving back to our community.  We have volunteered at school functions for our children and our grandchildren and have helped coach their sporting teams.  I have been on the Johnson County Compensation Board for 7 years. I am A Fair Housing Ambassador for the Iowa City Board of Realtors, serving as the task force leader for our home buyer education certification program which has won National awards and recognition. I am also on the Johnson County Housing Trust Fund Board of Directors and recently have been appointed to serve on the Iowa City Crime Stoppers Board.

What do we do for fun?  When we have time away from real estate and interacting with our family, you can find me in my flower gardens or fishing or camping.  We both love music and Tom is a drummer for a local rock and roll band.
